NewsBusters: Can't you just smell your taxes being raised?

I hope everyone is ready for the weekend. I understand that McCain will be releasing his VP candidate's name sometime this morning, I am ready! Well, we know one thing for sure, it will not be his 'good friend' Joe Biden. Even though I seem to remember Biden would rather run with McCain. At least that choice is off the table.

I hope you enjoyed the latest NewsBusted video. If you want to see more go to their website here.

Did you get your MSM of the front lawn yet? If not you may have missed some really good news about a recent Rasmussen Poll. What you say, nothing there in the paper? Maybe on one of the Alphabet channels. Nope. You are about to see why:

War on Terror Update: Confidence in War on Terror and Iraq at Highest Level Ever

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

Voter confidence in the War on Terror is at the highest level ever recorded since Rasmussen Reports began regular tracking in January 2004. Fifty-four percent (54%) of American voters now think the United States and its allies are winning the war. The previous high-water mark for optimism—52%—was reached a handful of times in September and October 2004.

Optimism about the situation in Iraq is also at an all-time high. Forty-eight percent (48%) now expect the situation in that troubled country to get better over the next six months. Only 17% expect things to get worse. In addition to being the most optimistic assessment ever recorded, these numbers reflect a remarkable turnaround over the past year. Last August, just 27% thought things were going to get better while 47% were pessimistic.

Looking longer term, voters are evenly divided as to whether history will judge the mission in Iraq as a success or failure. Thirty-eight percent (38%) offer an optimistic assessment while 41% say the opposite. Seventy-three percent (73%) of Republicans think history will look kindly on the effort in Iraq while 63% of Democrats disagree. Unaffiliated voters are divided on the question.

So why is it we haven't head about this news anywhere else? Is it possible that the MSM will keep this hidden because they have a hidden agenda? I so much would like to be wrong about that. Let me pull a short quote from Rasmussen [emphasis is mine]:

"In addition to being the most optimistic assessment ever recorded, these numbers reflect a remarkable turnaround over the past year. Last August, just 27% thought things were going to get better while 47% were pessimistic."
In one year American's Optimism went from 27% to 47%. A 20 point difference! I have to wonder, if this was reversed, would it be front page news. What do you think guys and gals? Please let me know;  just go to the comment section then scroll down to the bottom of the page.
