Will strong sanctions stop Iran from using Nuclear weapons? You decide.

[John K. Matyi]  This is an ongoing story, sorry if it gets a little disjointed. As I am writing and editing this article there was a Fox News flash that the European Union (EU) has announced that it believes that Iran is now only six months from testing an A-Bomb. Also from Fox, "there are some signs that North Korea may be just days from reactivating it's Nuclear reactor." I searched Google but there is still nothing listed for either of these on the net. Please read the next two paragraphs, the emphasis is mine. It highlights the major difference between the statements of the two candidates on Iran; and why the latest news is so important [Emphasis is mine]:

Barack Obama: Now is the time for Americans to unite on behalf of the strong sanctions that are needed to Increase pressure on the Iranian regime"

John McCain (through his spokesperson): "While Senator McCain and Governor Palin will work with our allies to contain and eliminate the threat from Iran, Barack Obama has pledged to meet with this country's most dangerous enemies, including Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, without preconditions.

[Barack Obama]:
"I strongly condemn President Ahmadinejad's outrageous remarks at the United Nations, and am disappointed that he had a platform to air his hateful and anti-Semitic views. The threat from Iran's nuclear program is grave. Now is the time for Americans to unite on behalf of the strong sanctions that are needed to Increase pressure on the Iranian regime"

"Once again, I call upon Senator McCain to join me in supporting a bipartisan bill to increase pressure on the Iranian regime by allowing states and private companies to divest from companies doing business in Iran. The security of our ally Israel is too important to play partisan politics, and it is deeply disappointing that Senator McCain and a few of his allies in Congress feel otherwise."

[Michael Goldfarb spokesman for John McCain] "Barack Obama has the gall today to express 'disappointment' that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had 'a platform to air his hateful and anti-Semitic views. It is Barack Obama who would give him the greatest platform of all, an unconditional summit with the President of the United States. Barack Obama's reckless determination to meet with a man who believes our Israel friends are Zionist murderers undermines our nations allies and demonstrates a frightening lack of judgment."

"While Senator McCain and Governor Palin will work with our allies to contain and eliminate the threat from Iran, Barack Obama has pledged to meet with this country's most dangerous enemies, including Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, without preconditions. The American people have a right to know precisely what additional concessions Barack Obama plans to make. What they don't need is a lecture on getting tough with Iran from the man who railed against bipartisan legislation labeling the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization."

[John K. Matyi]  Looks like Barack has now "condemned outrageous remarks," (not the man some refer to as the Hitler of the 21st century, just his remarks), make room under the Obama bus for President Ahmadinejad's outrageous remarks, just his remarks. You can go here, and read more about the threat of Iran and the use of Nuclear weapons. The article below, however, gives a good historical picture of the man who "... has been around death for 30 years or more. Training for it, training others for it, and participating in it."

Does all of this make a difference? Obama is disappointed that the UN has given Ahmadinejad "a platform to air his anti-Semitic views." He wants us, Americans all, "to unite behind the strong sanctions," excuse me Senator. We have been united behind strong sanctions on Iran for eight years! The problem is not with Americans, it is with the leadership in Iran. You remember, that small country that you described as not being a danger. When Barack or his surrogates say they want to have an "unconditional summit" with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a man who describes our allies as "Zionist murderers" and their country as a "cesspool," are they in touch with reality? Or, just like in the Carter and Clinton years, will we will again be referred to as a "paper tiger" in an Obama presidency?

For those of you who support Obama because he is for "Change." Ask yourself if this is the kind of change you are hoping for. An America that has no borders; with a weak and ineffectual Army, Navy, and Air Force? An America that will be weak and unable to defend our NATO allies, or fight against terrorists and those who hate us and work toward our destruction? An America with an isolationist philosophy that prevents our businesses from trading overseas or with Canada or South America?

What keeps Iran from Attacking it's neighbors? A United States of America that has the ability and the will to do great damage to our enemies. Our Liberal friends have called this a display of "Cowboy Diplomacy."  I call it no serious attack on our soil for over seven years. I call it keeping Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East, alive and well even though they are surrounded by neighbors who want to destroy their country and kill all of their people. I think President Bush said it best and I paraphrase, Democratic free countries do not attack their neighbors.

Get your self a cup of coffee, or tea, and read this article. Be prepared to be afraid, but also enlightened.

Dear President Ahmadinejad

"But your praise of Iranian fighters isn’t limited to men shot down on the battlefield in that bloody war;  you celebrate cases of what you call — and extol — “martyrdom.” I call it the deliberate, criminal slaughter of many tens of thousands of young children. Some of those kids were only 12 years old. They were sent across the battlefields into Iraqi territory, as human mine-detectors. They walked across the minefields, and got blown up. The Iraqi soldiers were so horrified that they shouted at the children to stop, to go back. But they didn't’t; you’d indoctrinated or hypnotized them, and you wanted them to die. Indeed, you were so certain they would be killed, that these little children were provided with plastic keys that were said to open the gates to paradise."

You can read the entire article on the Jewish World Review website here. When you have time please let me know your thoughts on this and other issues. I want to know what you think is/are the most important issue[s] you believe face this nation. Joe "I was forced down in Afganistan) Biden (did I mention they were low on gas not under attack as Joe would like us to believe) is using his speach in Cincinnati to make a very long attack statement against the Bush/McCain policies on the war. He has also not said McCain/Palin once. I'm sure my next article will be on the next big Biden Gaff of the week.

OMG! Joe Biden just said we are going to attack Pakistan "even over the objections of others." More to come...
