Montgomery –Secretary of State Beth Chapman announced today that she will offer up to $5000 in cash rewards to any individual who reports information which leads to a conviction of voterfraud in the State of Alabama. She will offer up to five rewards of $1,000 each. “If money will help us stop voter fraud and hold those responsible accountable for it then it will be money well spent,” Chapman said.
WithChapman’s implementation of a new Voter Fraud Unit in her officeand a website, www.stopvoterfraudnow.com, she and her staff have had many concerned citizens come forward to voice their concerns about voter fraud. Chapman says citizens have givennames, specific instances, locations, and other information criticalto Chapman’s asking that cases be investigated.
“I am glad that people feel comfortable enough and are courageous enough to call my office and report specific instances of voter fraud they have seen and witnessed.Concerned citizens are what it will take to stop voter fraud in Alabama.”
Earlier this year Chapman released information regarding alleged voter fraud in Bullock,Perry, and Lowndes Counties which led to the Attorney General seizing voting records in two of those counties. Chapman also established a Voter Fraud Unit in her office and led an effort to bring awareness to the need for concerned citizens to report voter fraud so it could be stopped. She and her staff developed a website www.stopvoterfraudnow.com and advertised a toll free telephone number 1-800-274-VOTE which resulted in numerous complaints of voter fraud which she forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office and the Department of Justice for further investigation.
Presently six counties have estimates of one hundred percent or more of their eligible voters registered to vote. These estimates are alarming and throw up red flags for Chapman and her staff. Chapman has conference with the registrars in these counties and the situation is underreview. Absentee ballots are also showing up in large numbers and have been blamed in the past with causing most of the alleged voter fraud reports. Now the near-perfect and beyond-perfect numbers of registrations are also of major concern.
Since the primary elections held in June and July, Chapman has travelled to Perry and Lowndes Counties which were plagued with allegations of voter fraud. She held voter education rallies in an effort to properly inform voters of elections laws and the seriousness of voter fraud. “Stealing someone’s vote is no different than stealing someone’s money,” Chapman stated. “In some ways it is worse because people have fought and died for our right to vote.”
“My staff and I will do everything within our power to see to it that voter fraudis no longer tolerated in
