[John K. Matyi] I'm back. After the elections I figured we all needed some quiet time to collect our thoughts, so I stayed away from the TV and focused my thinking on the future of this great country rather than on the past two years. I will leave it up to the political pundits to figure out what went wrong election day, we will now focus on protecting our conservative values and belief system. Today we will focus on protecting our Constitutional Rights. Specifically the 2nd Amendment; Our RIGHT to bear Arms. But I will expand this discussion as we all watch what happens after the Obama coronation in January.

I find in my ongoing research that there are two issues that are creating the most buzz in the on-line communities. An Increase in the ability to have an abortion at anytime in the pregnancy (which seems to be also heading toward laws to 'protect' (or force) doctors who assist in suicide), and the loss of our Second Amendment rights. What I see are both the so-called Pro-Choice and the anti-gun lobbyists standing in line outside the White House anxiously waiting to demand payback for their support for Obama and other legislators who came into power on his coat tails. The real fight has just begun. If we remain quiet and inactive we will not recognize our country in a very short while.

We all need to pray for the best, and expect the worst. Join (and become an active member of) the NRA. Support Pro-Life groups and organizations in your communities and on the Web. If you find other issues that seem to be creeping up on us, let me know so we can also focus on them in our community. Remember, all politics are local. From the local dog catcher, the mayor, state politicians, all the way up to the president. All elections are now more important than at any time in our history. Remember, Silence will mean Defeat.
