Thanks for the memories, but don't stop now! As always an open feed for your idea of where we need to go...

John K. Matyi[John K. Matyi] After an election that has taken the longest time (and spent the most money, ever) in history I know I needed a break from politics. I didn't even watch TV for about 72 hours after the election. In the last week I have been looking over the issues that seem to be important and trying to decide what the focus of this blog will be, at least for the time being. I could use some help with this as I want to cover issues that are important to you, the reader.

I will still be covering local, state-by-state, and federal politics as they come up, but I want this blog to be the place that you stop by because it also covers every day sort of things, the 'Kitchen Table' issues that the political pundits love to refer to (but had no idea what they were. Here are some of the things I have thought of that might be up-and-coming:

  • As a retired mental health worker (clinical social worker) with a behavioral science background I have also studied and worked with another mammal on this planet for a number of years, the family dog. I don't train dogs, I educate families on the best way to make your family pet happy (and therefore the rest of the pack, your family) and well behaved.

The problem with most 'dog training' is that if I train your dog he will listen to me, not you or the rest of the family. So that will only work if I move in (my 'toys' would make me too expensive). The advantage of doing this with a blog is that I will write articles on how best to (for instance) train that new puppy with out ever having to clean a mess on your new carpet. Yep, I said ever. I would also hear from readers on behavioral problems with their pets and discuss this in every day language that would allow other readers to contribute their questions and experiences.

  • Another area that I will earnestly cover is the 'Right-To-Life' issues that I am sure will become prominent with our new progressive government. We know that the Obama administration has a debt to pay for the huge amount of support from organizations like Planned Parenthood so it will take a grasss roots like effort of all Right to Life groups to stop "The Party of Death" from furthering their abortion agends.

  • I am hoping that this type of discussion between our readers will be beneficial to the much needed change in direction that we as conservatives need to have about the future. Without the help of the over 7000 readers from the last 2 months I would be simply shooting into the dark as to what we need and want for our future. As usual I will answer all comment on the blog. Doing this with personal emails would be somewhat counter productive as your comment (and my subsequent answer) would possibly interest and help other readers and therefore produce more effective disscussion.
So let me know what issues are important to you. If we build our reader base we will be more effection come 2010 (and beyond) and that will be one of our goals. I turn the floor open to you. Don't forget you can either regiter for the blog, or for just one post that interests you, its up to you. thanks for all your support over the last couple of months, I really appreciate all that you have contributed. BTW, goal Number 1 will be for me to get a better picture, at least with a smile.
