"The nine most dangerous words in the English language."
[John K. Matyi] Back some years ago when I was the clinical social worker for the Mental Health Clinic (the VAMC called it the Mental Hygiene Clinic, my dentist loved this) a patient gave me a gift (below) which I now share with you, a bumper sticker. Unknown to me these words had been made famous by President Ronald Reagan as the "Nine most dangerous words in the English language." At the time I was quite happy with the gift as I was from the government, and I was there to help him (and others of course). This morning as I was listening to President-Elect Obama speak I was reminded of this bumper sticker and pulled it out and scanned it into a file.
I can only hope that he really does intend to help the American people and I would hope that we give him the time to prove himself, but with a watchful eye. In any case I figure this bumper sticker would sell quickly on eBay, but I will always keep it as it is a precious reminder of the real duty of elected officials. May God help us all over the next four years.
