The (sometimes modified) Biologically Appropriate Raw Meat and Bones Diet for our Pets
[John K. Matyi] After almost two years of political blogging I have decided it is time for a change (at least until the next election). So at least for the present I am changing the focus of my blog to the feeding of our pets. I lost a beloved member of my family (Pack) in May of 2007 to the melamine added to our dog foods in the USA by the Chinese who were increasing the protein level in their rendering (kind of a soup like mixture they sell to dog food companies for the protein content). This of course increased their profit, but killed and/or made thousands of dogs and cats in this country very sick.
I started doing research on commercial dog food back then, but I found that even the best kibble and wet foods were slowly poisoning our pets with chemicals and poor sources of protein. I recently have changed to what is often referred to as BARF (Biologically Accurate Raw Food), but more accurately it is a Raw meat and Meat with Bones style of feeding. I certainly will explain more of this as time goes on, but here is your chance to find out more of how to feed your pets the way that Nature intended.
Another topic that will be discussed frequently will be local places to buy raw food and meats that are not easily found in our local super markets. At least not at a decent price. I guarantee there will be something here for everybody.
We will start with a focus on feeding, but all questions and comments are appreciated. This blog will not be moderated, so keep your comments to the point (when able). I will delete Spam and block Trolls (you know who you are), but all opinions are welcome. If you are requsting information about local (to you) places to buy food or other products, be sure to include your state and city/county. I don't recommend you including your address or phone numbers, but if you want to make contact with someone local, I suggest you add a web based email to your post (i.e., Gmail, Yahoo, etc.). BTW, all breeds are welcome. We are here to talk about a member of our family, so be polite. Pictures and Youtube videos are also welcome.
